I’ve been deep diving into the literate from-the-heart music of John Darnielle and his evolving band The Mountain Goats, as well as Dirty Projectors, who never cease to amaze me with their utterly alive brilliance. Also in the mix, author Zora Neale Hurston, The Clientele, Jason Faulkner, Peter Gabriel and Fiona Apple’s brutal Brett Kavanaugh-inspired throw down. We also have a smidge of The Beatles, Björk, Katie Boeck, Radiohead, Rosemary & Garlic, Helena Deland and Japan’s tricot, one of the only band’s I learned that can transport me, while receiving major dental surgery.
