Hailing from London, Dream Reporter is immediately captivating. Her voice is unique, powerful in its understated, ethereal quality. It evokes a curious combination of the modern and the instantly familiar with songs that are both intimately personal and explorations of the world at large. Universal themes of loss, triumph, and growth are distilled through autobiographical lyrics. They’re words that may be often felt but not often spoken. Most are born out of unexpected sparks, captured in a voice memo and followed to their logical conclusion as a sonic painter explores her canvas.

In her first releases Dream Reporter captures a sense of catharsis. The songs are powerful indie rock meditations, swirling with atmosphere, often haunting and complex in their simplicity. The arrangements are generally sparse and undistracting with a healthy reliance on repetitive vocal motifs. It’s clear that these songs are the first in a long trajectory to come, but already Reporter brims with potential. It’s a debut effort with the maturity of a seasoned artist because it’s wholly honest in its expression.
