  Rob Friedman
Producer/Engineer/Multi-Instrumentalist/Songwriter

Rob Friedman’s unique vision to record making sets him apart from others in the field. Rob’s talent as hit songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, engineer & mixer lend an all encompassing approach to whatever needs an artist might want - great songwriting, arranging, soulful guitar, keyboard, bass, percussion playing and expansive soundscapes or homegrown organic tones. Early in his career Rob was signed as an artist/writer to United Artists Music publishing where he embarked on carving out a solo career and writer-for-hire. Rob has written or co-written over 20 songs by artists on major labels including “Don't Shed A Tear” recorded by Paul Carrack (Squeeze, Mike & The Mechanics) which was a Top 10 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 9 weeks, and in the Top 100 for close to six months. Rob co-wrote “Queremos Bailar” on the Grammy nominated album House Party by Dan Zanes And Friends as well as songs on the RCA Records album by Dan’s former band The Del Fuegos. Rob also produced and co-wrote songs on albums by Canadian Juno winning artists, Keven Jordan and Melanie Doane (both Columbia/Sony Music Canada).

Rob, equally adept at writing for film, has music featured in Oscar winning director Robby Henson's feature film “Pharoah's Army” starring Chris Cooper, Patricia Clarkson and Kris Kristofferson. Rob also wrote the Main Theme and incidental music for Cable Ace Award winning MTV Series "Idiot Savants" as well as being the musical director for the show’s live band.

Recently, Rob has produced albums for Rob Barraco (keyboard player with Phil Lesh & Friends and The Dead), "The Dragonflys", Ali Eskandarian’s debut album “Nothing To Say”, and has performed on, engineered and mixed the new Dan Zanes And Friends album “Catch That Train!” for Dan’s Festival Five label with Starbuck’s Hear Music Imprint.

Always on the cutting edge, Rob’s attraction is to great talent with a shared vision to making lasting music.
