Hailing from Boston, HOORAY FOR EARTH is a band that plays giant dinosaur rock with huge-ass guitars and synths sort of like Nirvana, Squarepusher and Enya breaking things at a video arcade in hell. Self-released in September 2006, HFE’s eponymous LP has already landed itself on many critics’ year-end “Top Ten Lists” including The Boston Phoenix and The Noise, in addition to boasting regular airplay on both commercial and college radio. In just one year HOORAY FOR EARTH have christened themselves at SXSW, completed a 3-week east coast tour in the process, enjoyed an opening slot for underground legends Mission Of Burma, rocked for crowds of more than 6,000 at Harpoon Brewery’s Brewstock and Octoberfest events, and sold out 2 nights at the Middle East Upstairs celebrating their CD Release this past September.
